Cargo charter planning begins with the load
A cargo charter needs a precise description of the shipment before an aircraft can be proposed. Total weight is only one part of the decision: door dimensions, loading arrangements and the nature of the goods can be decisive. Jet.live can discuss a request and the information required for a carrier review.
Describe the shipment accurately
Provide the number of pieces, each item’s external dimensions, individual weight and total shipment weight. Include packaging and pallet dimensions. State whether an item can be rotated, stacked or handled with standard equipment. Photographs can help after a suitable channel is agreed.
Explain the goods in plain language. Batteries, chemicals and other potentially restricted items require specialist assessment. Do not describe a shipment as ordinary baggage simply to fit a passenger-aircraft proposal. Acceptance depends on the carrier and applicable requirements.
Define the delivery deadline
Give pickup readiness, delivery location and the latest useful arrival. Include the time needed for loading, local handling and the final road journey. An airport-to-airport flight estimate is not an end-to-end delivery promise.
For a time-critical shipment, explain what flexibility exists in airports or ground transport. A different airport can be useful if it has suitable handling and a workable road connection, but that comparison needs to include the complete chain.
Review loading and international handling
The carrier needs to confirm the aircraft’s cargo opening, floor and loading constraints. A shipment that fits by volume may still be impossible to load. Special equipment, personnel and secure handling arrangements should be identified before commitment.
International shipments may require customs and other documentation. Use qualified handling and customs professionals for the actual shipment. A charter enquiry does not establish that any particular goods are accepted or cleared for travel.
Confirm responsibilities in the proposal
Ask the proposal to identify the operating carrier, aircraft, included handling, ground transport arrangements and the limits of the service. Clarify what happens if the cargo dimensions or readiness time change.
Jet Insite Aviation Group is a charter broker, not a cargo airline. A final service proposal depends on the actual load, route and operator acceptance. Send operational shipment information first; sensitive commercial documents can follow through an agreed process.
Frequently asked questions
What details are needed for a cargo quote?
Piece count, dimensions and weight for each item, goods description, packaging, route, readiness time, deadline and handling requirements.
Can any shipment travel in a private jet?
No. The aircraft, loading constraints, goods and carrier permissions must be appropriate for the shipment.
Does an enquiry confirm cargo acceptance?
No. Acceptance and the final operating plan require a carrier assessment and confirmed booking terms.
